What to do until legalization of USA gambling
Since 2006 gamblers in the United States have had to search high and low for an online casino that would allow them to play. The UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) ran off all of the Internet gambling businesses that they once called home. This has left players searching for the legitimate sites that will allow them to play.
There are several that are still out there that may be worth checking out until the United States gets there new online casino laws in place and their sites up and running. In December the state of Nevada crafted a set of rules and regulations for online wagering and the very next day the Department of Justice handed down an “opinion” that the 1961 Wire Act, the act in which UIGEA was based off of only pertained to online sport betting.
This is going to open up the doors in several states for online casinos to operate and for USA players to spend their bankrolls at home, rather than risking it all at a casino that may or may not be legal. As with all things online, there are casinos that exist solely to steal American money and if players are not careful, they can easily fall prey to one of these establishments.
While the list of online casinos that allow American players seems to be getting smaller by the minute, there are still a few that will allow them and they are even offering up some sizable bonuses to attract people to their sites. These bonuses can be quite lucrative but there are always play-through requirements that must be met before any winning are cashed out.
In addition, it is not possible for USA players to use credit cards at most of the remaining sites so one of their other deposit methods must be used. Of course this will all change when the American businesses get up and running. It would only seem wise and natural. It is smart for the credit card companies to not allow this type of transaction right now, however.
Perhaps the biggest thing that USA players are missing out on by not being allowed at most of the online casinos currently is the chance to play poker with a live dealer. This technology of streaming a live person through to the casino is still in its infancy stages so most players from the U.S. will have to use the sites that do not offer them. However, to many players this is not that big of a deal.
It would appear that gamblers in America will have their day soon with what is predicted to be a major boom of a market in the online gambling industry. It will still take some time yes, but soon players from all over the world will have more options and many more games to look forward to.
